Feature · Colour search
Search your photographs by colour
You often remember a frame by its light before you remember its date: the particular blue of that afternoon, the green of a wall. Peak lets you search by exactly that.
Any colour, not the nearest preset
The picker is open: choose the exact colour you have in mind rather than the closest of a dozen swatches. Stack several and Peak keeps the frames that carry all of them.
Weighted by how much of the frame it covers
Every photograph is read for its five dominant colours and the share of the frame each one covers. A match on the colour that fills the frame outranks a match on a colour in a corner — prevalence is part of the answer, not a tiebreak.
Matched the way an eye reads difference
Colours are compared in OKLab, a colour space built so that equal distances look equally different. Two blues that look close are close; two that look apart are apart — which plain RGB gets wrong.
Nothing to set up
The palette is worked out in your browser as each photograph is uploaded, from the same pass that makes its thumbnail. A search runs over the whole library, however long ago a frame was shot.
Questions
- Does colour search work on photos I uploaded before?
- Yes. Peak fills in what older photographs are missing, in the background, from the browser.
